The Eight Daily Darshans
Daily Sewa in Pushtimarg is centered around the childhood routine of Shri Krishna, structured into eight darshans:
1. Mangala (approx. 5:15 AM): Waking the Lord at dawn. The kirtan is soft and gentle (in Raga Bhairav or Ramkali). Bhog consists of warm milk, fresh butter, and dry fruits.
2. Shringar (approx. 7:15 AM): Adorning the Lord with seasonal clothes and jewels. Raga Bilawal or Devgandhar.
3. Gwal (approx. 9:00 AM): The Lord takes the cows to graze. A light snack of sweets and mathri is offered. Raga Sarang.
4. Rajbhog (approx. 11:15 AM): The grandest feast of the day, featuring elaborate cooked meals (Sakhri and Anasakhri bhog). Raga Sarang or Suha.
5. Utthapan (approx. 3:30 PM): Waking the Lord from His afternoon nap. Raga Bhimpalasi or Multani.
6. Bhog (approx. 4:30 PM): Afternoon light snack consisting of fresh fruits, juices, and seasonal items. Raga Purvi.
7. Sandhya Aarti (approx. 5:45 PM): Welcoming the Lord home. Waving of oil lamps to protect the Lord from the evil eye. Raga Kalyan or Yaman.
8. Shayan (approx. 6:30 PM): Preparing the Lord for sleep. Kirtans are quiet (in Raga Bihag or Kafi).
