Ashta Samay Darshan
In Pushtimarg, the daily Sewa of Sri Shrinathji revolves around the eight darshans. Explore the details, musical ragas, and traditional colors of each darshan.
Awakening the Lord
Waking the child Krishna with soft bells. Offered warm milk and butter. The temple is cool and the music gentle.
Adorning the Lord
Adorning Shrinathji from head to toe with seasonal garments, gold jewelry, and fresh flower garlands.
Heading to Graze
The child Krishna prepares to graze cows with his cowherd friends. Light refreshments like sweets are offered.
The Royal Feast
The most grand darshan. A full meal of Sakhri and Anasakhri sweets, rice, dal, and vegetables is presented.
Awakening from Siesta
Awakening Shrinathji from his afternoon sleep. Offered light dry fruits and water. Blows the conch shell.
Afternoon Snack
Offered seasonal snacks. In summer, cool drinks, and in winter, warm milk sweets. Garlanded with fresh flowers.
Welcoming the Lord
Welcoming Krishna back from grazing cows. An oil lamp aarti waves away any negative energies.
Retiring for Sleep
Laying Shrinathji to sleep. Lullabies and soft hymns are played, and the floor of the sanctum is cleared.
Philosophy of Grace
Pushtimarg is founded on the philosophy of **Shuddhadvaita** (Pure Non-Dualism), propounded by Mahaprabhuji Srimad Vallabhacharya. Unlike other paths of asceticism, Pushtimarg does not require giving up family life or the world.
Instead, it teaches that the entire universe is a manifestation of Sri Krishna, and one should dedicate their home, wealth, family, and actions to the service (Sewa) of the Lord in the form of a child (Balkrishna).
